White House chief of staff Mark Meadows held a grand wedding for his daughter in May, banning gatherings of more than 10 people, US media reports.

The wedding took place in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 31, and around 70 guests were in attendance, the Atlanta Journal’s Constitution reported for the first time.

Photos from the event show a large number of people talking in close proximity without anyone wearing masks.

The event manager’s president said he followed the guidelines.

Novare Events’ Myrna Antar said the company complied with Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s orders to allow 10 people per 28 square meters.

“And while we don’t comment on the client’s events, we can confirm that the entire 16,000 square feet has been reserved for this small wedding – far more than the number of square feet per person allowed per order,” she said.

Mike Moon, an Ember Studio photographer who shot the event, told the New York Times that the event staff wore masks, but most of the guests did not.

Mr. Meadows has not yet commented on the reports.
