The Crown: Somerleyton Corridor is remodeled into Sandringham

Employees at an English mansion said it was a “privilege” to be the setting for one of the most streamed dramas ever shot.

Netflix show The Crown used Somerleyton Hall near Lowestoft in Suffolk to recreate the Queen’s estate in Sandringham, Norfolk.

Christmas decorations and trees were put up in March when scenes with Olivia Colman, Josh O’Connor, Emma Corrin and other stars from the hit series were filmed just before the first coronavirus lockdown.

Hall Event Manager Peter Thompson said: “It was just a privilege to choose us in Somerleyton.

“It’s an amazing house, loads of history, and it’s a private family home so it’s very inhabited too.”
