U.S. government lead scientist Anthony Fauci said an edited clip of his used in a Trump campaign ad was misleading.
It shows Dr. Fauci, as he says, he couldn’t imagine anyone could do more to fight Covid-19, suggesting that he is talking about President Trump.

The infectious disease expert previously argued with Mr Trump about how to deal with the pandemic.

This comes days after Dr. Fauci criticized the White House for hosting a meeting last month linked to a Covid-19 outbreak.
He said the September 26 Rose Garden event, where President Trump’s candidate for the Supreme Court was presented, was a “superspreader event.” At least 11 people who attended later tested positive for the virus.
Mr Trump also tested positive on October 1 and was hospitalized with the virus for three days.

But last week doctors cleared him up for public events, less than a month before he ran against Democratic candidate Joe Biden in the presidential election.
On Monday, the Trump campaign is planning a large rally in Sanford, Florida.
Mr Trump has been skeptical of measures like masks and barriers to combat the spread of Covid-19, which killed more than 213,000 people in the United States. He has discussed the prospect of vaccine availability, although researchers say it won’t be likely until next year at the earliest.
Polls suggest that Mr Biden has a single-digit lead over Mr Trump, and an ABC News / Ipsos poll found that only 35% of Americans agreed to Mr Trump’s management of the crisis.

According to US media, 34 White House employees and other contacts have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past few days, many in connection with the September 26 event.
On Friday, the Minnesota Department of Health announced that nine infections had been linked to Mr Trump’s September 18 rally in the state.
