Ethan Hill, a 10-year-old boy from Alabama, is welcomed for his efforts to give back to the community by helping the homeless. He recently bought 100 sleeping bags and groceries for the homeless in Birmingham.

Ethan has been helping homeless people every holiday season with sleeping bags and care kits for the past two years. In his third year, Ethan is trying to make sure he can help more homeless people, so he’s set a goal to buy 100 $ 10 worth of sleeping bags.

Ethan and his family started a fundraiser on Facebook to raise funds for the homeless. Over $ 6,500 has been raised to date.

His entry caught the attention of the City of Birmingham and Mayor Randall Woodfin, who described his efforts as “servant leadership at its best,” he wrote on Twitter.

Additionally, Academy Sports and Outdoors reached out to Ethan and offered him a $ 1,000 shopping spree to contribute to his initiative. The store opened early to accommodate Ethan so he could buy sleeping bags, gloves, cold weather socks, hand warmers, buckets of food and more for the homeless.
