Amnesty International welcomed the verdict. Mark Dummett, director of Amnesty International’s Global Issues Program, said the battle had not yet been won, but added: “This landmark decision could mark the end of a long chapter of impunity for Shell and other multinational corporations that violate human rights overseas commit. “”
