Yelp Now Provides a Function That Permits Companies to Specify COVID-19 Vaccine Necessities for Clients and Employees
The safety measure only applies to companies in the restaurant, food and nightlife industries.

Yelp released a new security measure to help companies share COVID-19 vaccine requirements for their customers and employees.
The new feature, which is the latest addition to the platform’s COVID-19 security section, allows companies in the restaurant, food and nightlife industries to indicate whether customers require proof of vaccination and whether or not all employees are fully vaccinated. According to a statement released Thursday by Yelp.

The move comes at a time when some companies and cities are demanding proof of vaccination for customers and employees who participate in indoor activities as the delta variant of the coronavirus continues to rise.
Yelp will monitor business sites that choose to report vaccination requirements in the event that there is an “impact” on their policies, said Noorie Malik, Yelps vice president of user operations, in an announcement of the new role.
Yelp updated its COVID-19 content policy to prevent reviewers from leaving negative reviews for companies based on their opinions about vaccinations and to prevent “review bombing” of a company that is attracting public attention for its COVID policy, said Yelp. According to these guidelines, Yelp users are required to submit reviews based on their experience, not their opinion.
To prevent the bombing of reviews, Yelp plans to monitor the companies that use the feature for malicious content that violates the company’s policies.
