The allegations were that they had uncovered a vulnerability that could give way to large-scale systemic electoral fraud.

It seems like the website will allow people to create a ballot for someone else using just their name and date of birth. However, it must be printed, signed and returned. Additionally, the form, which is produced in at least Oregon, requires a valid ID number or a copy of some other accepted form of identification.

UPDATE: Washington State too.

Portland Tribune reporter Zane Sparling tweeted, “The“ Mark my Ballot ”button is NOT synonymous with the actual vote. It creates a form that those entitled to vote by post must submit to the election office. “He added,” Simply clicking these buttons will not create a vote. The form must be submitted by fax or email, and the form will only work if you have been given postal voting status by an election officer. “

Again, simply clicking these buttons will not create a vote.

The form must be submitted by fax or email. The form only works if you have received postal voting status from an election officer.

Oregon voting rules require a valid State ID number or the last four digits of your Social Security number to return a postal vote.

However, people on social media dealing with the alleged vulnerability also claimed that they had started the process of changing someone’s online registration in Washington. it cancels any ballot that the person has already cast.

We have not yet been able to confirm or debunk this claim.

The Gateway Pundit was unable to independently verify the allegations as it would be voting fraud. We have contacted the Oregon State Elections Office for more information and will update this story if there is a response.

If someone can actually cancel previously submitted ballots, the potential for election fraud is staggering with the security flaw that 4chan users may have uncovered.

We will continue to provide updates as the story unfolds.

UPDATE (4:59 AM EST): The Oregon voter portal is now unavailable due to maintenance.
