Actor Ben Platt went to Twitter to reveal that he had suffered a bout of COVID-19 in early March this year.
The Tony Award winning actor responded to a tweet by graphic designer Ced Funches who asked, “Do you personally know anyone who has signed COVID-19? No names, just yes or no. “
The tweet caught the attention of many, including Platt, who replied, “Me. It was like a terrible flu that lasted about three weeks. Thankfully made a full recovery. so many have not and will not be so lucky. “
He continued: “I’m totally fine, now you distance yourself and mask yourself again and again!”
Platt has kept this under wraps and this is the first time he’s publicly announcing his battle with COVID-19. Of course, his fans were very happy that he was fine and that he was recovering.

Speaking to Greg Evans of . in July, Platt said he had a “desire” to return to Broadway, which is currently closed due to the pandemic. “I look at film offers and scripts, but as soon as possible,” said Platt, “I definitely want to come back on stage.”
The actor will also repeat his Tony-winning role in the film version of Dear Evan Hansen, which also stars Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Amandla Stenberg, Danny Pino, Nik Dodani, Colton Ryan, DeMarius Copes, Isaac Powell and Gerald Caesar are. Stephen Chbosky (Wonder) will direct a screenplay by Steven Levenson, who wrote the book for the stage musical with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The story follows the title Evan Hansen, a high schooler with social anxiety who is accidentally drawn into a lie after the family of a classmate who died of suicide committed one of Hansen’s letters for her son’s suicide note.
