Booboo Stewart To Star In ‘The Adventures of Tikki the Marvel Canine’ From Director LaMarcus Tinker – .

EXCLUSIVE: Booboo Stewart, known from franchises such as Descendants of Disney Channel and The Twilight Saga, was selected to star in The Adventures of Tikki the Wonder Dog, an animated feature by LaMarcus Tinker.

Stewart will pronounce the character of Picasso, a spider who creates incredible unique webs that are works of art, but do not match and are bullied by other spiders. When Picasso suddenly disappears, a young puppy named Tikki, who has an autoimmune disease that affects her entire body, especially her eyes and legs, calls on her friends to go on an adventure to find him.

Sean Johnson (Down By The River) wrote the script based on a story and characters created by Patricia Jarosz and Katherine Steen. Tinker is producing the film through its banner from M&M Filmz Inc.

Tinker, whose actors include Friday Night Lights, Glee and Cougar Town, has made several live-action films but will mark his full-length directorial debut. He becomes part of a small but growing list of black filmmakers in animated space.

“This is an animated film that is being shot by me (African American) and is being put together with a ‘united nation’ of minorities from many different backgrounds in an industry where this is very unknown to the animation world,” Tinker said.
