Brazil’s Fantaspoa Unveils First Half Of 2021 Program – .

EXCLUSIVE: The largest genre film festival in South America, Fantaspoa, has presented the first half of its program for the seventeenth edition from April 9th ​​to 18th. Scroll down for the full list.

Like last year, the festival had to run online due to the ongoing pandemic. It will be held completely free of charge with films that can be streamed in Brazil through a renewed partnership with Brazilian horror streaming service Darkflix. Last year’s event drew more than 67,000 spectators. While the films are geographically restricted and limited to 3,000 viewers per screening, questions and answers and workshops can be viewed anywhere in the world.

25 feature films have been confirmed to date, including three world premieres, five international premieres and 10 Latin American premieres. Titles come from previous festivals like San Sebastian, Rotterdam and Toronto.

This year’s festival was supported by a special grant from the Brazilian government to support cultural events during the pandemic.

Festival events featuring Brazilian creators, including actors, directors, screenwriters and make-up artists, will be held on YouTube and Facebook.
