CBS Nabs Two Dramas From Katrina O’Gilvie, Jeff Buhler, Rideback & Considering Hat – .

CBS recorded developmental dramas Activation by Katrina O’Gilvie (Swagger); and The Tempest by Jeff Buhler (Pet Sematary). Both projects come from CBS Studios, Rideback and Thinking Hats Rideback / Thinking Hat Campfire writer space program designed to attract seasoned feature film writers and other creative voices to broadcast TV development for the first time. The authors will be brought together with experienced TV makers / showrunners from the CBS Studios. O’Gilvie worked with Rita Mimoun (Under the Bridge) on Activation and Bühler with Anna Fricke (Walker) on The Tempest.

Activation is written by O’Gilvie and revolves around a group of highly qualified disaster relief experts who have a wide variety of areas of expertise and skills. You risk your life being the first boot on the ground and you control all kinds of emergency situations.

O’Gilvie Executive produces with Mimoun along with Craig Turk of Thinking Hat and Dan Lin and Lindsey Libertore of Rideback.

The Tempest is written by Bühler and revolves around a former Army intelligence officer and her survival brother-in-law who work together to solve her husband’s mysterious death. Her discovery that he was one of 127 test subjects in a top-secret government mind control program led them to track down and rescue the remaining test subjects before they commit the most heinous acts of terrorism.

Bühler Executive produces with Fricke, Thinking Hats Turk and Ridebacks Lin and Libertore.

CBS Studios is the studio for both projects.

O’Gilvie started out as an assistant to Aaron Sorkin on Sports Night before writing TV One’s Behind the Movement on Rosa Parks. She was also behind TV One’s Sins of the Father and Don’t Waste Your Pretty. She is currently the Story Editor on Apple TV + ‘s Swagger. O’Gilvie is being looked after again by manager Adam Robinson of The Rookery and Kaplan Stahler Agency.

Bühler, who created the limited series Nightflyers by George RR Martin of Netflix / Syfy and was a showrunner, has genre film credits, most recently Pet Sematary, The Prodigy, Jacob’s Ladder and The Grudge. He also wrote Midnight Meat Train. He is again taken care of by Gotham Group and Morris Yorn.

Activation and The Tempest join the previously announced Campfire writer space project Lewisburg, a drama inspired by the life of actor Gbenga Akinnagbe that received a script engagement plus penalty at NBC, as well as a successful list of projects developed and developed by this year’s selection writers were sold.
