Chicago Points Keep-At-Residence Advisory & New Restrictions For Gatherings As COVID-19 Instances Improve

As mentioned earlier, the presence of COVID-19 is still very present and cities are slowly but surely starting to introduce restrictions to limit the number of cases.

On Thursday it was announced that the city of Chicago had issued a stay at home recommendation and new restrictions on gatherings to help reduce the number of COVID cases. The advisory will officially come into effect on Monday, November 16.

Speaking of the advisory, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said, “If Chicago residents, businesses and visitors don’t make changes to contain the spread of COVID-19, the city will be well on its way by the end of the year 1,000 more Chicagoans losing a year or more. “

According to WGN9, residents are advised to leave their homes only for work, school and basic needs. They also call for continued use of the remaining 6 feet of clearance and the use of face masks.

They also advise people not to hold home gatherings with anyone outside their household. That said, they recommend a limited number of gatherings for the upcoming Thanksgiving Day.

As we previously reported, cases for COVID are increasing and many cities are working to smooth the curve.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo recently announced that bars, restaurants and gyms will close by 10 p.m. on Friday.

It was also announced this week that Texas would become the first state to have more than 1 million COVID cases, including El Paso in the country’s epicentres.
