Cuomo and Friedman: ‘For America to Reside,’ the GOP ‘Has to Die’

In November, CNN welcomes Chris Cuomo openly threatens the lives of Republican lawmakers when he warned that “they will lose a lot more than this election.” He even admitted to “target” them. And in Monday’s Prime Time issue, Cuomo continued down this dangerous path by speaking to the New York Times columnist and Communist China sympathizer Tom Friedman about how “For America to live, this party must die.

After pocketing Friedman’s book, Cuomo explained how the people on the right would ask them to use violence. “If you just use the word “die” the whole right margin will throw you under the bus as a real person asking for violence“He wailed.

Cuomo then went on to attack minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) (whom he referred to as a disease earlier on the show) for saying that the right place to hold ex-President Trump accountable is an actual court (Click on “Expand”). ):

CUOMO: You have two and what do they mean? Have you ever seen someone take a political move like McConnell did to acquit them and then on the exact grounds why they should have sentenced?

FRIEDMAN: Well Chris, I think everyone covered the fact that Mitch McConnell’s hypocrisy was as great as anything in the open air pretty well.

CUOMO: Without shame, Tom. That’s what I’m saying. No shame. No shame.

From the beginning we had a president without shame, supported by a party without a backbone, reinforced by [a] Network without integrity. That was the problem“Friedman announced in response to his host.

Taking advantage of his affinity with China’s disgusting system of government, Friedman called for what would essentially result in a one-party system in the United States: to drop enough Republican voters to prevent the “rump party” from being elected to national office.

What I’m really focusing on right now, and what the important question is, is this party going to split up 10 to 15 percent so that the Trump Rump Party won’t be able to win a national election to retake the house to retake the Senate, let alone retake the presidency“, He mused to Cuomo.” In my opinion that is the most important question before the country. Because this party has proven that it is not a ruling party. “

Of course, Friedman threw out the weary smear that the Republican Party was a cult, claiming the GOP had no platform at its 2020 Congress:

It is not a ruling party in two ways. First, it puts its leader, its cult leader, before the constitution. And second, back to the campaign, there was a convention where there was no platform. It didn’t have a platform. You have to stop and think about it. Trump, all he talked about was how bad he wanted to get back in power, but he never really said why.

“And you really have to ask yourself whether this is a party to health plans or conspiracy theories, Jewish space lasers or a space program, the demolition of the Capitol or the building of the infrastructure,” Friedman asked rhetorically.

That last line revealed how ridiculous and dubious Friedman really was. He suggested the Republicans were not party to any space program, but it was President Obama who ended the manned launches in the United States, and it was President Trump who brought them back.

Friedman continued to rant that “The most important thing for the country right now is that this version of the Republican Party, led by Donald Trump, cannot come back to power until the party transforms itself. ” He added: “It cannot be brought back to power. ”

CHRIS CUOMO: My next guest says that for America to live this party has to die. Let’s include New York Times columnist Tom Friedman, author of the bestselling book From Beirut to Jerusalem. If you just use the word “die,” that whole right margin is going to throw you under the bus as a real person asking for violence.

Do you have two and what do they mean? Have you ever seen someone take a political move like McConnell did to acquit them and then on the exact grounds why they should have sentenced?

TOM FRIEDMAN: Well Chris, I think everyone covered pretty well the fact that Mitch McConnell’s hypocrisy was as big as anything in the open air.

CUOMO: Without shame, Tom. That’s what I’m saying. No shame. No shame.

FRIEDMAN: Yes. I think that this – from the start we had a president without shame, supported by a party without a backbone, reinforced by a network without integrity. That was the problem.

What I’m really focusing on right now, and what the important question is, is this party going to split up 10 to 15 percent so that the Trump Rump Party won’t be able to win a national election to retake the house to retake the Senate, let alone retake the presidency. In my opinion, that is the most important question before the country. Because this party has proven that it is not a ruling party.

And you really need to wonder if this is a party to health plans or conspiracy theories, Jewish space lasers or a space program, the demolition of the Capitol or the building of infrastructure.

So I think the most important thing for the country right now is that this version of the Republican Party, led by Donald Trump, cannot come back to power until the party transforms itself. In this sense, I think that this party, as it is currently constituted, needs to transform into something else. It cannot be brought back to power.

FRIEDMAN: I think the most important thing right now, considering where you are, Chris, is that Joe Biden is successful. He is successful in his stimulus program. He manages to get the vaccine out. He succeeds in having teachers vaccinated. One of your guests spoke about it earlier that night on CNN. And revive the economy.

If Joe Biden can just keep doing what he’s doing. Wake up every day, go to the office, do its job, move that thing down the street, we’ll be fine as a country. This thing is going to burn itself out at some point. But the problem with the party right now, and you see it in this letter – you know Princess Di famously said there were three people in my marriage. And in the case of the Republican Party, there are three people. There’s Trump, there’s the grassroots, and there’s the Fox-led information ecosystem. And people are now trapped in this closed cycle. And in this closed loop you will receive such letters. The only way you can break is if the party is out of power for a long time and Biden succeeds.
