WarnerMedia has announced that it will close its HBO and WB linear TV channels in India, Pakistan, the Maldives and Bangladesh starting December 15. Rainmaker Content hires Karen Wise as sales chief
Rainmaker Content, the retail house founded by former Kew Media Distribution managers Greg Phillips and Graham Begg, has hired former Sky Studios manager Karen Wise as sales director. Wise spent seven years at Sky Studios, formerly Sky Vision, and rose to become sales director for EMEA before leaving last year. Caroline Clarke, another former Sky Vision executive, is also joining Rainmaker as an Asia, Middle East and Africa sales consultant based in Singapore. Colin Kiely from Kew also takes on the role of Director of Operations and Digital Distribution. DLT Entertainment invests in Gag Reflex
My family producer DLT Entertainment has acquired a stake in Manchester-based talent agency Gag Reflex and will use the investment as a stepping stone to start a regional production company called Gag Reflex Productions. The new company will be led by Gag Reflex founder Lee Martin. Gag Reflex includes Adam Kay, the former doctor, whose memoir This Is Going to Hurt will be incorporated into a major BBC / AMC series by Chernobyl producer Sister starring Ben Whishaw. DLT recently acquired a stake in Impatient Productions, the production company founded by comedian Mark Watson and former BBC producer Lianne Coop.

Kidscreen moves online
Kidscreen is the latest industry event spinning online amid the pandemic. The Miami-based summit will be called Virtual and Kidscreen Summit Virtual next year (February 8 through March 5). The online offer enables people to meet virtually and to provide the participants with a tailor-made private video conference room. There will also be the usual series of network events and keynotes.
