HGTV has given Farmhouse Fixer the green light with New Kids in Jonathan Knight from the block. It will premiere on HGTV Wednesday, March 3rd at 9 p.m. ET / PT.
The six-episode series will feature Knight, who has renovated more than 200 homes as he carefully preserves the original craftsmanship and historic charm of classic homes, modernizing layouts, updating interiors, and giving customers endless reasons to cheer.
“American farmhouse restoration isn’t just a hobby – it’s my passion, my obsession, and I’ve been doing it for over 25 years,” Knight said. “It’s so easy to tear down an old house. It’s a lot harder to renovate so families can enjoy them for years to come. That’s why this work is so worthwhile. “
To kick off the season, Knight will breathe new life into an 18th century New Hampshire farmhouse with the help of designer and girlfriend Kristina Crestin. To stabilize the property, Jonathan needs to remove a sinking additive in the house, but on the plus side, he’s going to turn a backyard garden shed into stunning potting soil and a chicken coop. In future episodes, he will be doing custom renovations for more old homes, including creating an enviable cook-kitchen and built-in seating area for a large dining room. During the season, outdoor projects include everything from a goat pen to raised beds.
“I love a good old farmhouse,” said Knight. “For me it’s a way of life to be on a farm. It’s the real deal. Old farmhouses are disappearing from the landscape, but these are American treasures that should be saved. “
