HHS Boss BUSTS Media’s LIE Trump Didn’t Purchase Sufficient COVID Vaccine

The liberal media pounced on a report in the New York Times Monday alleging the Trump administration hadn’t bought enough of the Pfizer COVID vaccine to protect every American. While the US government only bought 100 million cans from Pfizer, Minister of Health and Human Services Alex Azar broke its scare tactics with the fact that the White House had bought 600 million cans through six different manufacturers. But the broadcast network (ABC, CBS and NBC) refused to listen to the sanity.

Azar broke his lie during an interview with NBC Nightly News host Lester Holt. Prior to the interview, Holt stated that Azar had “Concerns about potential vaccine shortages played down. ”

I know that in the Pfizer deal, the government agreed to pay 100 million cans and maybe 500 million more. To the best of your knowledge, the government has chosen the option of buying more of what now appears to be a very successful vaccine“Holt urged.

In response to this nonsense, Azar dropped the truth about how much vaccine the Trump administration bought:

SECRETARY ALEX AZAR (HHS): So, Lester, you are right. We have guaranteed the purchase of 100 million vaccine doses with each of the six different vaccine manufacturers with whom we have signed contracts, so that we have 600 million vaccine doses in a broad portfolio.

With Pfizer, we have the option to buy an additional 500 million. I cannot have discussions about potential procurements as we call this Procurement Sensitive Information. However, we are continuing to work across manufacturers to increase the availability of FDA-approved vaccines as quickly as possible.

While Holt continued to suggest that the US could no longer buy from Pfizer, which Azar said it was not, he tried to suggest that prioritizing US citizens over the rest of the world meant officials expected shortages. “No. We prioritize making vaccines here in America and sourcing that vaccine for the benefit of Americans,” Azar retorted.

In the CBS Evening News, Anker Norah O’Donnell expanded the Times’ report of the Pfizer vaccine to include all COVID vaccine candidates. “Because there are some reports that the White House could have bought more vaccine doses but didn’t“She lied when she spoke to the White House correspondent against Trump, Paula Reid.

That’s right, Norah“Reid explained, reinforcing the lie.” The New York Times reports that Pfizer offered the Trump administration additional doses of the vaccine over the summer, but the government refused. And now, allegedly, Pfizer cannot deliver them to the US because they have already been assigned to other countries. “

Interestingly, CBS was busy while the Trump administration had talks with Pfizer likely over the summer Beat up President Trump for storing glass vials for the vaccine. They complained that Trump was keeping them away from the rest of the world.

For ABC’s part, World News Tonight host David Muir described the recognition of these 600 million acts as “downplaying”. “The Trump administration is responding tonight and tonight. A spokesman for the Department of Health and Human Services downplayed the news, saying they had five other vaccine candidates. But that could raise real questions, ”he scoffed.

Later, White House ABC chief correspondent Jon Karl tried to scare his viewers. It says: “Tens of millions of Americans may have to wait longer – months longer – to get a COVID vaccine as the Trump administration bought more doses of Pfizer this summer. ”

The president has been promoting his efforts to deliver a vaccine for months“He reprimanded as if the president had failed. Karl then boasted that the European Union had bought 200 million doses of Pfizer vaccine; it was only later that he realized that the administration had invested in other vaccine candidates.

While the networks were busy falsely pointing out that Trump had not bought enough vaccine to save the country from destruction and death, All covered up Biden’s best COVID advisors Advocacy for vaccines to be withheld from Americans and given to the world’s first.

DAVID MUIR: And we’re going to start late today with the headline that Pfizer offered to sell more doses of the Pfizer vaccine to the US earlier this year, but that the Trump administration said no. And now the New York Times reports that Pfizer may not be able to give the US more doses until next June because other countries have shopped.

The Trump administration responded tonight and tonight, a Department of Health and Human Services spokesman downplaying the news, saying they had five other vaccine candidates. However, this could raise real questions.

JON KARL: Tens of millions of Americans may have to wait longer – months longer – to get a COVID vaccine as the Trump administration bought more doses of Pfizer this summer. The president has been promoting his efforts to deliver a vaccine for months.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Vaccines are at a level that nobody would have ever thought possible.

KARL: But tonight, the New York Times reports, and ABC News has confirmed that Pfizer offered to sell additional doses of its COVID-19 vaccine to the U.S. government later this summer, but the Trump administration has refused .

They decided to buy just 100 million doses from Pfizer, enough to vaccinate 50 million Americans since a full vaccine requires two shots. In contrast, the European Union bought 200 million cans of Pfizer with the option to buy more. Pfizer may not be able to provide the US with the additional doses until June.

US officials involved in the speeding up of Operation Warp tell ABC News they didn’t want to buy another Pfizer vaccine until they were sure it would be approved by the FDA. They also say that when combined with vaccines from Moderna and other companies, they will have enough vaccines to make sure any American who wants to be vaccinated can be by mid-next summer.

NORAH O’DONNELL: Also, Britain is preparing to give the first vaccine tomorrow. And did the US government miss the opportunity to buy more doses of the Pfizer vaccine this summer?

O’DONNELL: Paula, I want to ask you about the vaccine percentage. Because there are some reports that the White House could have bought more vaccine doses but didn’t. What do we know?

PAULA REID: That’s right, Norah. The New York Times reports that Pfizer offered the Trump administration additional doses of the vaccine over the summer, but the government declined. And now Pfizer is reportedly unable to ship these to the US because they have already been assigned to other countries.

Now the White House is pushing back on that report. Pfizer informed CBS News that it would be unable to comment on confidential negotiations.

Tomorrow, President Trump is expected to hold a summit to promote the vaccine, but Pfizer is unlikely to be in attendance, and neither is Moderna.

LESTER HOLT: The Trump administration says it is ready to set the wheels in motion for the largest mass vaccination program in the country’s history this week. In an interview with me late today, Health Secretary Alex Azar downplayed concerns about potential vaccine shortages, describing the first few hours after a vaccine was approved by the FDA.

HOLT: I know that in the Pfizer deal, the government agreed to pay 100 million cans and maybe 500 million more. To the best of your knowledge, has the government chosen the option of buying more of what now appears to be a very successful vaccine?

However, we are continuing to work across manufacturers to increase the availability of FDA-approved vaccines as quickly as possible.

HOLT: So do you still have that option for the 500 million or is the window closed?

AZAR: Oh, we still have that option for an additional 500 million cans.

[EDIT ALERT: Azar goes to say more but the video cut off before Holt asked another question]

HOLT: There is news that tomorrow the president will sign an executive order that will ensure that Americans have priority before another vaccine leaves the country to help other countries. Is that confirmation that you may be facing a vaccine shortage?

AZAR: No. We prioritize making vaccines here in America and sourcing that vaccine for the benefit of Americans. But we also knew that once the needs of the American people were met, we would receive an excessive vaccine. We’ll make that available to the rest of the world.
