Kenneth Walker Says An Officer Advised Him It Was “Unlucky” He Wasn’t Shot The Evening Of The Breonna Taylor Taking pictures
Kenneth Walker’s full interview with Gayle King for CBS is now available, and more details have been revealed about the tragic night Breonna Taylor was killed. From his point of view, Kenneth continued to talk extensively about that night while letting the world know what had happened before and after the shooting.
While speaking with Gayle, Kenneth spoke about moments after Breonna was hit by gunfire. He said he left the home to seek help and then he was flooded by the police. He says when officers asked if he was shot, he told them no. Then he said that one of the officers told him it was “unfortunate” that he had not been hit.
Kenneth went on to say, “I didn’t know what to think and I really wasn’t worried about myself. The only reason I’m out here is because she can only get help out there when I’m out here. “
He went on to describe in detail how police dragged him down the street to their car while he was not wearing socks or shoes. Kenneth says before they were taken to police headquarters, the officers drove to a random parking lot where another officer in an unmarked car approached his window and told him there was “miscommunication” and asked if he needed anything.
When he got to police headquarters, he said they had removed the handcuffs and he was free to walk around. Then he knew something was wrong.
“They don’t supposedly shoot a cop … and they take off the handcuffs,” said Kenneth.
Kenneth went on to say that the officers did not tell him that Breonna had passed away, but that he needed to hear about it on the news.
As previously reported, none of the officers responsible for Breonna Taylor’s death were charged with her murder. Instead, former officer Brett Hankison was charged with three cases of wanton harm.
