Lionsgate Choices Quick Story ‘Lush’; ‘John Wick’ Franchise Filmmaker Chad Stahelski To Produce – .
Lionsgate picked up Lush, Duane Swierczynski’s comedic spy thriller short story that Chad Stahelski’s 87Eleven Entertainment will produce through his contract with the studio.
Swierczynski will customize his story as a feature; The play appeared in Best American Mystery Stories 2019, edited by Otto Penzler and Jonathan Lethem. Swierczynski is an award-winning prolific writer, comic book writer, and screenwriter. He is also a two-time Edgar Award nominee.
Stahelski said, “When I read Lush, I saw what a great film can be made of Duane’s short story. I’m excited to see the world we can develop for this new spy film. “

Swierczynski added, “One of my fondest memories is watching John Wick take a break from a mystery convention in Long Beach and get blown away. With this film, Chad Stahelski drew attention to action films that I couldn’t be thrilled to work with anymore and Lionsgate. ”

Jason Spitz will also produce with Chris Goldberg as executive producer through his Winterlight Pictures. After serving as a literary scout for 20th Century Fox and EVP at Jeff Robinov’s Studio 8 for a decade, Goldberg recently founded Winterlight Pictures and has projects at Netflix, Universal, Amazon, Showtime, MGM, and others.
Says Goldberg, “The reason I started my company is to bring together writers and filmmakers who I love and admire. As soon as Duane introduced “Lush” to me, I knew it was perfect for Chad. I immediately had a feeling that he was going to get it. I couldn’t be more excited about this team. “
