Lizzo Encourages Everybody To Use Their “Energy” Whereas Accepting Billboard Music Award For High Tune Gross sales Artist (Video)

On Wednesday Lizzo received a Billboard Music Award for “Top Song Sales Artist”. As she received the award, she gave an encouraging speech about people who were not silenced and who were using their “power”.

The first-time nominee and winner stated: “When people try to suppress something, it’s usually because that thing has power. They are afraid of your power ”, she said when she stood in her dress with the word“ VOTE ”.

“There is power in who you are, there is power in your voice, so be it through music, protest or your voting rights, use your power, use your voice and refuse to be oppressed,” she said.

The 32-year-old received 11 nods for this year’s show.

Most recently, Lizzo signed a contract with Amazon Studios, courtesy of a new first-look deal. During the last meeting of the Virtual Television Critics Association on Amazon, Lizzo officially announced the news. In the new partnership, she will have complete control over the development of her own television projects via Amazon’s Prime Video streaming platform.

Speaking about her latest foray into the Hollywood world, Lizzo said, “I’m very excited to be working with the great team at Amazon. Many thanks to Jen Salke and the rest of the team for making this dream come true. I can’t wait to get started and share my vision with the world. “

Amazon Studios director Jennifer Salke shared a similar sentiment when explaining why partnering with Lizzo was the right choice:

“Lizzo is one of the most exciting, creative and joyful artists in the business and it is a great pleasure to announce this new deal with her. She has such a unique perspective and we’re excited to hear her ideas for new content that our Prime Video customers are sure to love. “

Along with Viola Davis and Brad Pitt, she is the latest celebrity to land a first-ever Amazon deal. As you know, Lizzo made her film debut with Jennifer Lopez and Keke Palmer in last year’s hit film “Hustlers”.
