Manitoba Premier slams virus skeptics and calls for vacation safety

Brian Pallister, Prime Minister of Canada’s Manitoba Province, asked residents not to ignore science and to avoid congregating over the holidays when coronavirus cases rise.

If you don’t believe Covid is real now you are an idiot – you need to understand that we are all together. You can’t miss this. Stay separate. So I’m the guy who has to tell you to stay apart for Christmas and the holiday season you celebrate with or without your belief that you celebrate – usually with friends and family – where you share memories and build memories. I am that guy. And I’ll say that … … because it will protect you. I’m the type that steals Christmas to keep you safe because that’s what you have to do now. You have to do the right thing because next year we will have a lot to celebrate, and we will celebrate this year if we do the right thing this year. You don’t need to like me I hope that in the years to come you will respect me for having the courage to tell you the right thing, and here is the right thing. Stay safe, protect one another, love one another, care for one another, you have so many opportunities to show that, but don’t come together this Christmas.
