Marc Wooldridge, Former Fox OzExec, Launches Maslow Leisure – .

Marc Wooldridge, former head of 20th Century Fox Film Distribution in Australia, founds Sydney-based film distribution and production development company Maslow Entertainment.

Wooldridge, a 27-year-old Fox veterinarian who left the studio last year, will serve as the founder and managing partner of Maslow, which will focus on the Australian and New Zealand markets.

The company will provide sales and marketing for theater and VoD and is in the process of acquiring international and local content.

The company also seeks to build connections with local filmmakers by engaging with projects early on. It is said to provide “pitch and script feedback, financial analysis and guidance on optimal marketing strategies and positioning” for creatives.

Respected Sales Director Wooldridge said, “The pace of change in the industry has been accelerated significantly by recent events. As the appetite for entertainment continues to grow, the impact of technology on production, advertising, and distribution makes sense to consider different approaches, and Maslow is definitely up to the challenge. With Australia and New Zealand being such attractive manufacturing locations, Maslow looks forward to building great partnerships and finding new opportunities together in this dynamic and developing market. “

He continued, “Talking to a lot of people from different parts of the industry, greater collaboration and dialogue between production, distribution and exhibition is key to increasing the success rate of local films with large audiences in both theaters and the US being able to attract and entertain at home. I am very keen to contribute to a diverse and vibrant Australian film culture across all screens. Things are not going to happen overnight and we are obviously in very challenging times right now, but I can’t think of any other company I’d rather be a part of. Helping others to reach their full potential is at the core of Maslow’s values. That’s why I look forward to working with other companies and filmmakers to help them achieve their creative and commercial goals. “

Wooldridge spent nearly three decades at Fox but was a victim of the studio’s Disney merger last year. He spent 10 years as Fox Film Distributors MD for Australasia and two years as Marketing Director at Twentieth Century Fox Film Distributors, Australia. At the beginning of his career he worked in the studio, including as Vice President Marketing Asia Pacific and Marketing Director Japan, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Retail Marketing Manager at Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Great Britain.
