Mics Will Be Muted Throughout Last Trump-Biden Presidential Debate

Donald Trump and Joe Biden

After the first catastrophic presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump went left, the bipartisan Presidential Debate Commission seems tired of the nonsense and has decided to turn off the microphones as part of a new rule.

According to The Hill, while Biden and Trump provide their first two-minute response to each of the debate topics, their rival’s microphones are turned off when the other speaks. “The Presidential Debate Commission has passed new rules that mute the microphones and the Democratic candidate to give them two minutes of uninterrupted time at the beginning of each section of the debate.”

This comes just 3 days before the closing debate. The commission said on Monday said
“Both campaigns this week have reaffirmed their approval of the two-minute uninterrupted rule. The commission announces today that the only candidate whose microphone will be open during these two minutes will be the candidate who has the floor under the rules to enforce this agreed rule, ”the commission said in a statement on Monday evening.

The debate is divided into six 15-minute sections that will last 90 minutes. Each candidate speaks continuously for two minutes.

The microphones are switched off during the debate. “The open discussion part of the debate does not contain a mute button. But interruptions by one of the candidates will count towards their time in the second and final debate on Thursday, ”said The Hill.
