New York Occasions Columnist Claims Democrats By no means Referred to as Trump Illegitimate

The New York Times columnist Paul Krugman is a real work.

In a recent article for the newspaper, he lamented the fact that so many people on the right are questioning the legitimacy of Biden’s victory and goes on to say that Democrats never did that to Trump.

Of course, there are numerous examples of people calling Trump an illegitimate president, including Krugman himself.

Here is an excerpt from his new column (emphasis added):

TRENDING: AG Barr destroys his name for all eternity – his actions today confirm that he is just another map-carrying swamp rat

How will Biden deal with Republican sabotage?

When Joe Biden is privy to the news, he will immediately face an unprecedented challenge – and I don’t mean the pandemic, although Covid-19 will almost certainly kill thousands of Americans every day. Instead, I mean that he will be the first modern US president to attempt to rule in the face of an opposition that refuses to accept his legitimacy. And no, Democrats by and large did not claim that Donald Trump was illegitimate, only that he was incompetent and dangerous.

It goes without saying that Donald Trump, whose conspiracy theories keep getting wilder, will never admit and that millions of his followers always believe – or at least say they believe – that the election was stolen.

To hide itself, the New York Times added this tiny correction to the bottom of the column:

Correction: December 1st, 2020

An earlier version of this column made inaccurate reference to the Democratic stance towards Donald Trump. Some questioned its legitimacy, not all of them accepted it.

Paul Krugman himself called Trump illegal:

Democrats did the same:

I tried to make this suitable for framing, @PaulKrugman:

2017: “Now Mr. Lewis says he will not attend the inauguration of Donald Trump, whom he considers to be the illegitimate president.”

2020: “And no, Democrats never said Donald Trump was illegitimate …” pic.twitter.com/aN9F7pIWXK

Jimmy Carter said it:

It wasn’t just Hillary. Every Democrat believes that Trump’s presidency is illegal. Http://t.co/Mvcw3ucSab

Hillary Clinton said it:

Ah yes, let’s make arbitrary rules about who counts. Does she qualify or close? https://t.co/iT60tFtugx

Democrats and the media believe no one remembers anything.
