Should Watch: Invoice Maher EVICERATES Fellow Liberals for Ignorance on COVID Information

The madness of American culture right now, be it the growing alertness or the Censorship of thoughtshas repeatedly made Bill Maher sound like someone who Conservatives could have a conversation with. The liberal host on Friday night ended his show by accusing the liberal media of overreacting to the Conservatives and Donald Trump’s handling of the pandemic, and even admitted that Republicans in states like Florida and Texas did a better job on the matter than blue states.

Maher began his comment at 10:49 p.m. Eastern and began:

And media, well, I think we all know when it bleeds, it leads. The more – the more they can get you to stay inside and watch their panic porn, the higher the ratings. When researchers in Dartmouth recently built a database of COVID coverage from major news outlets around the world, they found that while other countries were mixing the good news with the bad, the The US national media reported nearly 90 percent bad news. Even if it got better, the coverage remained negative.

After taking a moment to complain that conservative media had been promoting misinformation on some issues, Maher re-warned his own side of the media, accusing them of misinforming the public, which may lead to that Democrats mistreated the problem in the states they lead:

But what about liberals? In a recent Gallup poll, Democrats far worse than Republicans got the correct answer to the basic question: What are the odds that someone who gets COVID will need to be hospitalized? The answer is between one and five percent – 41 percent of Democrats thought it was over 50 percent. Another 28 percent estimate the chances at 20 to 49 (percent). Nearly 70 percent of Democrats are completely wrong on this key issue and also have a grossly exaggerated view of the risk of COVID and child mortality rates – all of which explains why today the states with the highest proportions of schools are still closed blue states.

Then he added, “So if the right-wing media bubble has to have things like denying climate change, Liberal media shouldn’t have to answer for “How did your audience end up believing so much crap about COVID?”

Maher further recalled the media’s tendency to discourage people from going to beaches, although there is evidence that encouraging people to spend time outdoors keeps them from spending time indoors where they are with are more likely to develop COVID.

He then admitted that Republican-led states have gotten better than Democratic-led states, and even praised Florida Governor Ron DeSantis:

But for many liberals, “That can’t be right because Texas and beach-loving Florida have Republican governors.” But life is complicated. I read the Florida governor is reading. I know we like to think of Florida as the only middle school teachers on bath salts having sex with their students in front of an alligator. But apparently the governor is also a voracious consumer of scientific literature, and perhaps that is why he has protected his most vulnerable population – the elderly – much better than the New York governor.

The liberal comedian concluded by complaining that while there is evidence that obesity is a major risk factor for contracting COVID, the liberal media was too politically correct to warn obese Americans to try to lose weight .

And media, well, I think we all know when it bleeds, it leads. The more – the more they can get you to stay inside and watch their panic porn, the higher the ratings. (takes a moment to blame right-wing media for the fact that conservatives were misinformed on some issues)

… But what about liberals? In a recent Gallup poll, Democrats far worse than Republicans got the correct answer to the basic question: What are the odds that someone who gets COVID will need to be hospitalized? The answer is between one and five percent – 41 percent of Democrats thought it was over 50 percent. Another 28 percent estimate the chances at 20 to 49 (percent). Nearly 70 percent of Democrats are completely wrong on this key issue and also have a grossly exaggerated view of the risk of COVID and child mortality rates – all of which explains why today the states with the highest proportions of schools are still closed blue states.

So if the right media bubble has to own things like denying climate change, Liberal media shouldn’t have to answer for “How did your audience believe so much crap about COVID?” (Audience applause) A new report in the Atlantic says The media will not stop putting pictures of the beach on stories of COVID, although it is increasingly looking like the beach is the best place to avoid it. Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and vitamin D is key to a robust immune system. Texas recently lifted its COVID restrictions and their infection rates fell, in part because people came outside to let the sun and wind do their thing.

I don’t want politics to get mixed up with my medical decisions. And now that everything is politics, that’s all we do. If your side says that COVID is nothing, our side has to say that it is everything. Trump said it would (changes to Trump’s voice) “go like a miracle,” and we said it was World War II.

(…)

I think a lot of people died because of Trump’s incompetence, and I think a lot of people died because talking about obesity had become a third track in America. I know you’ve heard me pound that fried drumstick before, but amazing statistic has been reported since I last mentioned it – 78 percent of those hospitalized, ventilated, or dead by COVID were overweight. It’s the key piece of the puzzle – by far the most relevant factor – but you don’t dare pronounce its name. Imagine how many lives could have been saved had there been a national campaign – a la Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” program – with the urgency of the pandemic behind it. If the media and doctors had advised you to keep saying, “But you can do something,” but we will never know, because they never did, because the last thing you want to do is something insensitive accept. We would literally rather die.
