The Household Of Casey Goodson Jr. Shares Conflicting Tales After He Was Shot And Killed By Ohio SWAT Deputy

The family and local Ohio activists of 23-year-old Black Casey Goodson Jr. are calling for justice after he was killed by a veteran SWAT MP from Ohio. Casey was fatally shot and killed on Friday afternoon when he got home. Activists and Casey’s family members say he was carrying a subway sandwich and was on his way back from the dental office when he was shot three times in the back by a deputy of a Franklin County sheriff, according to USAToday.

The ward has come together to honor Casey’s life by holding a candlelight vigil on Friday night. The MP, whose name has not yet been released, was also a SWAT member and was assigned to a volatile task force of the US Marshal.

The Columbus Police Department is currently investigating the shooting and has not publicly disclosed Casey to this day – more than 48 hours after the shooting. A friend of the family, Heather Johnson, told USA TODAY Network’s The Dispatch, “Casey was 23 years old and never had any crimes. He was good, he worked in the gap, he loved his family. He just enjoyed being a big brother and being with his family. He loved her very much. “

Pete Tobin, the U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio, said the task force had just finished its work in the area when Casey allegedly drove past them with a gun. “He was seen driving down the street with a gun,” Tobin said, according to the point of sale. “Then at some point afterwards the MP confronted him. And it went bad. “

Casey’s mother, Tamala Payne, refutes claims about her son. Tamala said, “The police shot him three times in the back through the door.” She went on to say that Casey was licensed to carry a hidden weapon, had no arrest warrants, and was never in trouble in his life.
