UK COVID Supervisor Program
The Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) and the British Film Commission (BFC) are working together to introduce a new accredited program of training COVID supervisors for film and television production professionals. The new program is being developed through an investment of £ 100,000 from BFC in consultation with the Producers Guild of America’s Production Safety Task Force. It is aimed at production managers, line producers and site managers and builds on the BFC guidelines published in July to support the introduction of a UK best practice standard. Helen Curston has been appointed PGGB Educator to oversee the program.

US deal for Norwegian disaster film

The tunnel
TrustNordisk

The US distributor Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired the Norwegian disaster film The Tunnel from TrustNordisk. In addition to US sales, the film was recently sold to the UK and Ireland (Signature Entertainment), Canada (Mongrel Media), Australia and New Zealand (Rialto Distribution), Spain (Youplanet), Portugal (Films4You), and the Czech Republic & Slovakia (Foxx Media Group), Estonia (Estin Film), India (Big Tree Entertainment) and Turkey (Esen Electronics). When a tank truck collides in a tunnel in the freezing Norwegian mountains, families, young people and tourists on their way home for Christmas are brutally trapped in the dark. A raging snow storm means first responders have difficulty gaining access to the scene of the accident and if the destroyed tanker catches fire, the situation escalates.
