7 New Deaths, 366 New Constructive Instances – .

SUNDAY:The Los Angeles County’s Department of Health reported 3 new deaths from Covid-19 as well as 239 new positive cases on Saturday.

This Sunday update brings the total number of deaths in LA County from Covid-19 to 24,477 and 1,249,304 cases to date.

231 residents of the district are currently being hospitalized with Covid-19.

As usual, the case numbers and deaths announced today may reflect delays in weekend reporting.

SATURDAY: The Los Angeles County Health Department reported 7 new deaths from Covid-19 as well as 366 new positive cases on Saturday.

229 residents of the district are currently being hospitalized with Covid-19. 25% of them are in the intensive care unit.

While data showed deaths from Covid are still minor, new cases and hospital admissions in the county have increased slightly compared to last week. As of Saturday, June 19, Public Health reported only 255 new cases of Covid, of which 219 were hospitalized.

In any event, the case numbers and deaths announced today may reflect delays in weekend reporting.

Today’s numbers bring LA County to a total of 24,474 coronavirus deaths and 1,249,065 confirmed cases.

The test results have now been made available to nearly 7,000,000 people, 17% of whom tested positive. Today’s daily test positive rate is 0.8%.

Four of the deaths reported today were over 80 years old. One person who died was between 65 and 79 years old; One was between 50 and 64 years old, one between 30 and 49 years old.

Today, Public Health has continued to advocate vaccination against Covid-19. “COVID-19 vaccines in LA County have helped keep COVID-19 cases down and allow us to safely participate in our beautiful county’s summer activities,” said the department’s director, Barbara Ferrer. “Since many people will use our beautiful district, masking and distancing continue to be the best protection for the unvaccinated. COVID-19 vaccinations are still available and I encourage those who are not vaccinated to get vaccinated. “
