Cam Newton Reportedly Assessments Optimistic For COVID-19

Cam Newton tested positive for COVID-19 and the New England Patriots game against the Kansas City Chiefs has been postponed.

It looks like the NFL has been hit by COVID-19 again, and this time around one of their star players caught the virus.

It was reported on Saturday that Cam Newton tested positive for the virus. ESPN said it was first reported that Cam was about to miss the New England Patriots game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, but the game was ultimately postponed to Monday or Tuesday after it was revealed there were positive cases on both teams.

The NFL said in a statement: “A final decision will not be made until the league gets more test scores back on Sunday.”

The Patriots also spoke out in a statement, saying, “Late last night we received news that a Patriot player had tested positive for COVID-19. The player immediately entered self-quarantine. Several additional players, coaches and staff who have been in close contact with the player received point-of-care tests this morning and all of them were negative for COVID-19. “

Sources also revealed that Jordan Ta’amu, quarterback for the Chiefs Practice Squad, tested positive for the virus. He played the role of Cam while preparing the Chiefs for this week’s game.

Cam Newton joined the Patriots this season, having previously been sacked by the Carolina Panthers.
