Cinemark Responds To Earth-Shattering Warner Bros-HBO Max 2021 Theatrical Slate Choice – .

Cinemark is the first major exhibitor today to consider WarnerMedia’s decision to have its cinema board in both cinemas and HBO Max at the same time for 2021.

Essentially, exhibitor # 3 will take it easy and say the following through a company representative today:

“Given the current operating environment, we make short-term booking decisions on a film basis. At this point, Warner Bros. has not provided details for the hybrid distribution model of its 2021 films. “

While AMC immediately announced Warner’s decision to bring Wonder Woman on HBO Max and in theaters during the Christmas 1984 pandemic, Cinemark never responded. Those in the country of distribution say that Cinemark will inevitably come over and play the film, but nothing official yet. Cinemark boss Mark Zoradi as a former Disney vet has always been pragmatic about Windows decisions and had a thorough understanding of the studio side. We’ll see how that works out.

Will exhibitors charge $ 1 for these HBO Max films? And reap high rents? This is really an eyeballs battle between pandemic-braved cinemas and HBO Max who want submarines on short notice.
