EXCLUSIVE: Below is the first trailer for Eyimofe (This Is My Desire), Arie Esiri, and Chuko Esir’s Nigerian drama.
The film will premiere on October 11th at the BFI London Film Festival in the UK the 60th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence.
The film was fully funded in Nigeria and shot with a predominantly Nigerian cast and crew. It was shot Shot in 16mm and in 48 locations in Lagos. Producers were GDN Studios in Lagos.
Eyimofe is divided into chapters and plays in the present. He follows Mofe (Jew Akuwudike), a factory technician, and Rosa, a hairdresser, on the search for what they think is a better life on strange shores. But after Mofe loses his family and Rosa does not keep a promise, their plans collapse.
The film had its world premiere at the Berlinale in February.
