Roommate Kim Kardashian uses her considerable wealth and influence to help her homeland, Armenia. Kim reportedly donated just $ 1 million to help the Armenia Fund, which aims to raise money for aid to help local innocent people trapped in the middle of the country’s recent escalation.
Kim Kardashian’s $ 1 million, combined with other donations, will ensure that all funds raised for Armenia go directly to people in need of food, shelter, medical care and other resources that are currently scarce.
In addition, Kim’s siblings also opened his wallets to support the good cause. Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Rob Kardashian also donated to the Armenia Fund. In case you don’t know what’s happening, the decades-long dispute between Armenia and neighboring Azerbaijan over a mountainous area between the two countries has recently rekindled. The conflict dates back to the 1980s and there was a ceasefire in the region until last summer.
Things escalated and tensions continued to rise in July when both Armenia and Azerbaijan were accused of firing guns at the other – and now the armed forces have been mobilized and tensions are high.
In the meantime, other neighbors have also become involved in the conflict, including Turkey and Russia. Turkey is on the side of Azerbaijan and Russia fully supports Armenia. Kim Kardashian and her siblings apparently support Armenia as they are all of Armenian descent.
