Pew Survey Suggests Social Media Is Certainly Shifting Customers’ Political Views

Social media can often appear as an echo chamber, especially for those who closely follow election events. However, a recent survey suggests that Big Tech is changing users’ political views.

A study by the Pew Research Center published October 15 found that 23 percent of adult social media users in the US changed their political minds because of something they saw on social media in the past year.

According to the study, 21 percent of respondents who were Republicans or slim Republicans and 25 percent of Democrats and those who were Democratic said they “changed their views on a political or social issue because of something they were into seen on social media in the past year. “A total of 10,211 adults were surveyed.

Pew found that a higher percentage of people said they changed their views because of social media this year than in 2018, when the same study was conducted. In 2018, 19 percent of Democrats and 9 percent of Republicans responded positively, or 15 percent of respondents overall.

Participants described various topics they had changed their minds on over the past year due to social media, such as the Black Lives Matter movement, police brutality and the need for police reform, and even President Donald Trump.

“I used to support BLM, but now I see them as violent domestic terrorists who are not interested in tackling the real problems within the black community. BLM is about a communist revolution, not about helping the black community… ”said a fifty-year-old man.

“I have become more aware of systematic racism and the reasons for protests and riots,” said a 37-year-old woman who claimed to have changed her mind on social media.

“I read information about trans and LGBTQ people, and especially about scientists, and it changed my view of this population and the social problems they face,” said a 49-year-old man.

Unfortunately, the study does not discuss how or why the participants changed their views on various topics, just that they did. This lack of clarity is appalling given the climate of online conservative censorship. Just last week, Facebook and Twitter censored an article in the New York Post, an action that appeared to be helping the Democratic Party and former Democratic Party presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Even the outspoken liberal Google critic Dr. Robert Epstein warned that Big Tech could change the course of the election. Epstein recently stated that Google may be shifting power to flip the Senate. Epstein has also warned that Big Tech is capable of targeting individuals:

“Google and Facebook have millions of pieces of information about every American voter and they will target their manipulations on an individual level for each and every voter in every swing state. Nobody in the world except Google and Facebook can do that. ”

Conservatives are attacked. Reach out to your representative and request that Big Tech be held accountable to reflect the first change while providing transparency, clarity on “hate speech” and equality for conservatives. If you’ve been censored, contact us using the Media Research Center contact form and help us hold Big Tech accountable.
