Isn’t that interesting?
After four years of attacking Donald Trump, the media suddenly want to give peace a chance. Fox’s Greg Gutfeld saw this acutely in Fox’s The Five the other day. Greg said:
GREG GUTFELD: “It’s like a miracle! Media and Democrats come together on a message! It’s time to just move on. Time to heal! This is how the president-elect and some in the liberal media described it over the weekend:
JOE BIDEN ON SATURDAY: This is the time to heal in America!
CNN ANCHOR DON LEMON: America needed a dump valve right now. Relief finally came.
MSNBC ON SUNDAY: We’re getting decency again in our country.
NIC ROBERTSON, CNN INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMATIC EDITOR: [It’s] A time to heal America, but also a time to heal the world. “
And I would add that Washington Post columnist Alexandra Petri titled her post-election column: “It’s time to unite, but if it’s not too big, could you accept the results?”
Then there’s Joe Scarborough of MSNBC: “It’s time for us to take a deep breath and move forward.”
“Really?” “Really?” These media figures and so many more want us to “unite”, “heal” and “accept the results”?
Let’s take a look back at the media’s idea of healing and moving on for the past four years following President Trump’s 2016 election.
This is CNN’s Brian Stelter in 2019, as reported by The daily caller::
CNN’s Brian Stelter speculated Sunday on President Donald Trump’s mental health and called for more media coverage on the issue.
“So something is wrong,” said Stelter in the opening monologue of his show. Reliable source.
‘There are many theories about what it is. There are some doctors who think they know, ”he said. “Others say we shouldn’t speculate. There are ethical questions about this conversation, but we can no longer handle it on tiptoe. We have to talk about it. ‘”
Here is CNN’s 2019 Chris Cuomo interviewing Kayleigh McEnany: The president said he is “Obviously racist.”
Here is New York Times Columnist David Leonhardt: “Just say it: Trump is a racist “
Here is The Washington Post headline on an Op-Ed by an Erika Lee, the director of the Immigration History Research Center at the University of Minnesota. “”Trump’s xenophobia is an American tradition – but it doesn’t have to be
Here is the Washington Post on January 20, 2017 at 12:27 p.m. – just 27 minutes after Trump took office. “”The campaign to indict President Trump has begun. ”
Here is the New York Times editorial on February 17, 2017, 29 days after Trump was inaugurated: “Bring the special prosecutor. ”
Do you have it all The media spent their post-Trump election time calling for a special attorney and impeachment, calling the president mentally unstable, racist, xenophobic and more. They were absolutely unwilling to accept the 2016 results and made it their business to reverse those results in every possible way.
You could go on and on with examples like this from mainstream media over the past four years.
And now they are demanding that Americans come together in a kumbaya moment?
Somehow I suspect that the answer of most, if not all of the 70+ million Trump voters who will hear all of this, will be a resounding, resolute no.
Or in other words? I suspect the last four years of the chickens in the liberal media will soon be coming home to settle down there.
