White Man Wore ‘Blackface’ As Disguise When He Allegedly Killed His Daughter’s Mom

As if there was no white privilege, a Texas man is accused of trying to get away with murdering his baby mom by dressing up as a black man with a black face and a fake beard.

Andrew Charles Beard, 33, threw himself in to Carrollton Police this week after learning that an arrest warrant had been issued against him, according to People. Beard is charged with murder related to the death of Alyssa Burkett, mother of his 1-year-old daughter.

Now the cops say Beard actually had a fake beard and dark makeup all over his face to avoid detection.

According to authorities, Beard tried to protect his identity from surveillance cameras and witnesses, and it initially worked when two witnesses reported that a black suspect, not a white man, shot Burkett in the head before repeatedly stabbing her.

The attack occurred outside the Greentree Apartments, where Burkett was the manager. The police arrived to find her outside on the front steps of the complex. Several of her employees tried to provide first aid.

According to the affidavit, police found a car they believed to be Beard’s with dark liquid foundation and a fake beard with cosmetic glue.

As for the possible motive, authorities learned that Beard and Burkett were embroiled in a bitter custody battle over their daughter.

Burkett was given custody of the child on Sept. 30, and the affidavit alleges that police discovered tracking devices on Burkett’s car and her current boyfriend’s vehicle.

Bart is now being held in the Dallas County Jail without bail. Her child was unharmed and is currently a ward of the state, according to PEOPLE.
